Zonipay was founded in Lisbon in 2021 by Marisa Quintela (ex-Adyen), Rui Bettencourt (ex-Banco BPI) and Henrique Allard (ex-N26). After a decade in payments operations, the team realized that most merchants were stitching together a gateway, an acquirer, a vault and a reconciliation tool — paying four vendors for one outcome.

We now serve 1,400+ merchants across 38 markets, processing more than € 6,4 billion a year. Our team of 86 works from Lisbon, Porto and São Paulo.
